Ryan Gary Raddon, better known professionally as Kaskade, was born in Chicago on the 25th of February 1971. As a teenager, he frequented music shops, showing an early inclination to the art form. As he started college, he also began refining his DJ skills, working privately in his dorm room. Raddon served a full-time mission at age 19 for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Japan. After which, Raddon got back to his studies promptly, ran a record store while still studying, and eventually finished his degree in communications.
One of his earliest DJ gigs was his monthly Monday night party at a venue called Club Manhattan. He managed to save up for studio equipment and eventually moved to San Francisco with his wife where he got a job as an A&R assistant at Om Records. He continued DJing and producing music. At around this time, “Kaskade” was born. Soon, Kaskade was offered a three-album deal. His first full-length house debut was called “It’s You It’s Me” – and like a sign of successes to come, this received a nomination for Dance Star’s Best New Artist.
From the years 2001 to 2006, Kaskade started to get the worldwide attention that he deserved, with multiple singles topping the charts. “Steppin’ Out” was one of his earliest singles that landed on the number 5 slot of Billboard Magazine’s Hot Dance Club Play chart and number 6 on Dance Radio Airplay. Yet another one is “Everything” which went all the way to number 1 on Billboard Magazine’s Hot Dance Club Play chart. Other chart-topping singles include “Be Still,” “Stars Align,” and “Sorry.”
Eventually. Kaskade left Om Records and signed with Ultra Records. He then started collaborating with Canadian DJ, Deadmau5. The collaboration resulted in tracks that topped charts even in countries like Canada and the UK.
Since then, Kaskade has headlined in events like the Ultra Music Festival in Florida and the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas.
